The phoenix is the symbol of our Hotel. Legend tells of a wonderful bird, rare and almost impossible to find, capable of dying in flames and rising again from its own ashes. A creature suspended between myth and mystery, which for centuries has represented the strength of rebirth, beauty and transformation. Our hotel, too, like a phoenix, lives immersed in legend, history and reality. The myth of the phoenix comes back to life every day just a few steps from us, in the works, symphonies and timeless beauty of the magnificent Teatro La Fenice, located only 30 metres from the Hotel. Founded in 1792, Teatro La Fenice is one of the most prestigious theatres in the world. Its halls, precious decorations and refined ornaments still tell of the elegance and great musical tradition of Venice. At times, from the windows and from certain corners of the Hotel, our guests can hear the notes of rehearsals, songs, voices and melodies coming from the Theatre. A discreet, almost secret privilege that makes the stay even more special. It is no coincidence that many artists connected to the Theatre, today as in the past, have chosen our Hotel as their Venetian home. Among the most celebrated names, we remember Maria Callas and Riccardo Muti. But it is not only the Theatre that lives in our history. There is also another Fenice, just as fascinating and deeply connected to the identity of the Hotel: the historic Taverna La Fenice. On the ground floor of the hotel, in its right wing, stands the ancient Taverna La Fenice: an elegant place rich in memory, a restaurant since 1860 and, according to tradition, named by the celebrated Gabriele D’Annunzio. Over time, the Taverna has welcomed illustrious figures from the worlds of art, music and culture, including Toscanini, Strauss, Moravia and Girardot. What still strikes visitors today is, above all, its authentic charm: an eighteenth-century building, wrought-iron flower boxes, velvet coverings and the atmosphere of a historic venue that has remained almost untouched by time.
