Venetian cultural summer Time Does Not Exist From 17 July to 1 August 2026, Venice hosts the 20th International Festival of Contemporary Dance of La Biennale di Venezia, one of the most anticipated events of the Venetian cultural summer. Directed by Wayne McGregor, one of the leading choreographers on the international scene, this edition is entitled “Time Does Not Exist”. A poetic and deeply contemporary theme, inspired by the reflections of physicist Carlo Rovelli and his vision of time as a non-linear, changeable reality, made of relationships, memory and transformation. Dance thus becomes the ideal language to express what time preserves and transforms: the body, identity, memory, cultural roots, the relationship with the land and with the community. Every gesture, every movement, every stage presence becomes an invitation to look at the world from another perspective: more sensitive, more physical, more alive. For two weeks, Biennale Danza will bring to Venice an international programme of great scope: 140 artists, over 60 events, world premieres, European premieres and Italian premieres, with companies and performers from different cultures, landscapes and traditions. Among the most anticipated protagonists are the Bangarra Dance Theatre, an Australian company made up of Aboriginal dancers and awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, and Mamela Nyamza, South African choreographer, dancer, director and activist, awarded the Silver Lion. Alongside them, the festival welcomes artists and companies from all over the world, in a continuous dialogue between contemporary dance, rituality, identity, landscape, memory and new forms of expression. Biennale Danza 2026 is not just a programme of performances: it is a journey through the body and the present, an opportunity to discover how dance can tell the story of our time precisely while trying to move beyond it. Venice, with its history suspended between water, stone and light, becomes the ideal place to welcome this reflection. A city where past and future coexist every day, and where art can still transform the way we observe what surrounds us. Hotel La Fenice et Des Artistes, in the heart of Venice and just a few steps from Teatro La Fenice, is the ideal starting point for experiencing Biennale Danza 2026 and letting yourself be carried by the city’s most creative and contemporary energy.Biennale Danza 2026
